It’s Better Automated

As part of the voter education campaign, Comelec launched it’s official voter’s education website.  I.B.A. corresponds to It’s Better Automated.

The website features videos and sildeshows and articles aimed to educate the public for the coming 2010 election.

Thins I learned from it.

  • Each ballot has a unique bar code.  If a ballot is fed in to a machine it will not accept it if it belongs to another precinct and/or if that ballot has already been fed to a machine.
  • Each ballot has a UV ink that  makes it impossible to be reproduced for cheating.
  • The Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) will be translucent to allow the people to see that the ballot did went inside the machine but it’s not that clear for the epole to see who you voted for.
  • Special markers will provided.
  • The Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) will run on batteries.  Around 16 hrs of battery life.

Another website launched was  This  is a social networking/community site that aims to get interactive with the public.  You can join forums, upload videos or pictures relevant to the election.
